I was cleaning out my office today (I tend to go on cleaning tirades). The office I live in is a ‘temporary’ office; it is used for transient folks such as, grad students, contracted faculty, summer students etc. As a result, the mess that accumulates tends to be varied and…interesting. In today’s clean I found: 3.5/5.5 inch floppy disks, VHS tapes, IBM software, bowls, candles, razors, bath salts, tea bags, and an ash tray! To top it off, the craziest thing I found today was a box with 3 glass jars containing chemicals. Two of the jars were unmarked, the other was labeled Na2S2O3 (or Sodium Thiosulfate). Apparently it has lots of uses. I wonder how long that’s been sitting there?
