A column of the marine animal ‘Crinoid,’ fossilized for 450 million years. That’s 10 percent the age of our humble little planet. It’s amazing to think of what the Earth looked like 450 million years ago. I ran across this at the Ontario Science Centre in a little rock collection being presented by the Young Toronto Mineralogists Club. The club holds their meetings at the Science Centre and you’d be surprised at how much these young people know! I didn’t get to ask too many questions of this one, but apparently it was found in Georgetown, ON.
